I just signed up for this new really cool service called Contxts. It allows me to create my own personal SMS buisness card in 160 characters or less. The cool part is that when I meet someone who wants to save my contact info on their phone, PDA, or iPhone, all I have to say is:
“Text “peterleshaw” to 50500 to have my SMS business card sent to your phone.“
More information for Contxts website:
Contxts is so much more than a professional social network. It’s a way to make meaningful connections while out and about. Business cards are so 2007. What with the environment in shambles do you really want to be that guy who is handing out chopped up pieces of bleached trees? We here at Contxts.com think that our site will solve this problem and more. By using SMS, built into every mobile phone, you can easily and rapidly distribute your credentials.
Exchange all of your professional information with a single text message- Keep all of your professional contacts organized in one place
This is what a person will see if they follow the simple instructions above:
You can also receive a confirmation text message sent back to your phone with the name and phone number of the person that requested your SMS business card.
Here is a some info from Contxts web site for further information on how to send out your SMS contact info:
So now that we’ve gotten your interest you want to know how it works. There are two ways to connect with a colleague. Regardless of whether they have a profile on contxts or not you can exchange your credentials.
From your phone, you txt “send 3034759204” to 50500 (where 3034759204 is your recipients 10 digit number)
Your recipient will receive all of your contact information. Your contact txts “username” to 50500 on their phone
You will receive a request confirmation (unless you have it turned off). Upon accepting, your contact will receive your information.
Google recently release a video called, Introduction to the Google ad Acution. At the very end of the video, Google explains what an advertiser will actually pay per CPC in regards to their bid amount and Quality Score.
This piece of information is great because it provide a great argument for anyone who is trying to understand how to reduce the costs of their CPC’s and how redesigning or improving the quality of the landing page can return a better ROI.
